About us
Global Animal Care is inspired by the memory of my son, Billy Michael Moore (2 October 1991 to 22 December 2022). He loved animals, and this charity grew from his memory and from our family's shared love and concern for the welfare of animals everywhere.
What we do
Global Animal Care helps animals caught up in war, armed conflict and natural disasters around the world, and supports vetted campaigners working to end the dog meat trade. We don't run shelters overseas ourselves. Instead, we raise money and pass it as grants to trusted, established organisations already helping animals on the ground.
Where we are now
We're currently an independent fundraiser raising money for Happy Paw, a registered Ukrainian charity (no. 38266276) that keeps thousands of shelter dogs and cats alive through war and freezing winters. We're also in the process of registering Global Animal Care as a charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. One day we hope to care for, rehabilitate and rehome rescued animals here in the UK too.
Who we are
Global Animal Care is run by a small team of trustees from Dorset: Michael Moore (chair), Elaine Moore and Anne-Marie Mayor.
